Operating Room Nurse

Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of patients in the operating room. As a member of the surgical team, the RN collaborates with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, and other personnel to provide patient care in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, AORN, and regulatory standards.

• Ensure timely preparation and availability of supplies for surgical cases


• Communicate effectively with patients and families


• Update physician preference cards as necessary


• Scrub and assist physicians during surgical procedures


• Supervise personnel delivering patient care in the operating room

This position operates on a 5-day work week from 06:30 to 15:30, with a 30-minute lunch break. End times may vary depending on procedures performed.

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including prior travel experience


• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
