Description:

The Commercial and Government Billing Specialist will play a central role in claims processing, analysis and reimbursements for hospital and physician health care providers Auto and Work Comp receivables. The Commercial and Government Insurance Billing Specialist will work to ensure that qualifying claims have accurate information and are submitted, accepted and reimbursed timely and appropriately. They will be responsible for coordinating benefits, addressing coverage issues, claim edits, rejections and denials to include submitting corrected claims and appeals as deemed necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Verifying eligibility and coverages.
  • Submitting accurate/clean claims to insurance carriers for payment, including coordinating benefits with multiple insurances.
  • Reviewing claim payments for proper reimbursements; appealing underpaid or denied claims.
  • Responding to rejected claims and claim edits.
  • Navigating multiple insurance portals for claim statuses, EORs and appeals.
  • Verbal, written and email communications with insurers, patients and/or attorneys as needed;

Requirements:

  • Candidate must have at least 3-5 years' experience with commercial and government medical claims, preferably with some Auto and/or Work Comp billing experience.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in all areas of medical billing to include coordinating benefits and appeals.
  • Proficient in the use of Epic for billing, claim edits and work queue management, preferably for both hospital and professional providers.
  • Applicants should possess excellent PC skills, good communication skills (both verbal and written), and be able to provide a high level of customer service and professionalism.
  • Ideal candidates include current or former hospital and/or professional commercial and/or government payer billing specialists.
