Responsibilities
- Performs initial assessment and management of illness or injury in accordance with specified protocol and procedure to patients entering a correctional facility.
- Provides direct paramedical and comprehensive patient care, as required in each individual case.
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Administers appropriate emergency medical care including life support procedures, decontamination protocols, fluid/drug administration, obtaining EKG readings, and vital statistic monitoring.
- State licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic.
- Two years’ experience as an Emergency Medical Technician.
