Responsibilities
- Under indirect supervision, provide independent primary care in a correctional healthcare setting to a specified population of non-emergency patients
- Perform medical examinations and evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up consultation, and health education
- Obtain patient histories and develop patient care treatment plans, ensuring completeness and accuracy using the POMR format
- Supervise and/or coordinate the activities of patient care and/or support staff
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions
- Prescribe medications and other treatments
- Participate in planning programs and in developing specific health polices and procedures
- Current license as a Nurse Practitioner
- Current CPR certification, ACLS certification preferred
- Two (2) years of experience as a NP
- Proficient with electronic medical records
- Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include background check and drug screen
