What You'll Do:
- Provide 24‑hour clinical oversight for a 41–42 bed nursing unit
- Supervise, orient, evaluate, and discipline nursing staff assigned to the unit
- Oversee all daily clinical and administrative operations on the unit
- Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation and resident assessments
- Coordinate and prepare MDS assessments in collaboration with the MDS Nurse
- Oversee admission, discharge, and care planning processes
- Make frequent rounds to ensure quality resident care and staff performance
- Administer medications and treatments when necessary
- Carry out and communicate physicians’ and NPs’ orders; promptly report changes in resident condition
- Ensure restorative and rehabilitative programs are implemented as ordered
- Monitor compliance with federal and state long‑term care regulations
- Enforce safety policies, infection control practices, and proper use of equipment
- Respond professionally to fast‑paced, high‑acuity, and occasionally stressful situations
- Active Massachusetts RN or LPN license
- CPR and IV Certification
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
- At least 1 year of experience in a charge nurse or supervisory role
- Strong clinical assessment and decision‑making skills
- Solid knowledge of skilled nursing regulations and elder care standards
- Ability to work effectively with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
- High school education or GED
- Demonstrate physical ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, squat, and lift/carry up to 20 pounds unassisted or 50 pounds with assistance
- Proficient in reading, writing, and following instructions in English
