We are seeking an energetic and passionate Science Camp Instructor to lead engaging science activities for children during summer camp sessions. Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver interactive science lessons and experiments tailored to various age groups
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages curiosity and exploration
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques
- Ensure all activities adhere to safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
- Collaborate with team members to develop age-appropriate curriculum materials and activities
- Support children’s social-emotional development through Christian counseling principles when appropriate
- Maintain clear communication with parents and guardians regarding camp activities and children's progress
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain an organized and engaging learning environment
- Knowledge of early childhood education, childhood development, and special education needs
- Experience in teaching or tutoring in science or related STEM fields
- Ability to work effectively with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and enthusiasm
- Certification in first aid and CPR preferred; training provided if necessary
- Background in childcare, daycare, or camp programming is highly desirable
- Excellent behavior management skills to handle diverse student needs confidently
Experience
- Experience in working with children ages 5 - 12
- Background in Science education or related field (preferred)
- Ability to engage children in hands on activities
Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
