ARMED SECURITY OFFICER (OVER NIGHT PART-TIME / ALTERNATING WEEKENDS)

About the Role

We are immediately hiring qualified, professional Armed Security Officers for a 1-year contract at an active construction site in Harrisburg, PA. The primary focus of this post is high-visibility loss prevention, asset protection, and perimeter security to safeguard valuable building materials, tools, machinery, and site inventory against theft, vandalism, and trespassing.

Key Responsibilities

• Loss Prevention & Asset Protection: Maintain a high-visibility security presence to actively deter, prevent, and detect theft of building materials, high-value supplies, equipment, and machinery.
• Access Control: Staff and maintain the on-site guard shack to verify credentials and manage access for authorized personnel, contractors, and vehicles.
• Active Perimeter Patrols: Conduct physical perimeter and foot patrols throughout the construction footprint every 30 minutes to check staging areas, trailers, gates, and storage containers.
• Digital Guard Tour Tracking: Utilize GuardMetrics on your smartphone to scan tour checkpoints, log active patrol rounds, track site incidents, and log shift activity in real-time.
• Emergency Response: Serve as the primary on-site authority to handle trespassers, respond to site alarms, and coordinate with local law enforcement/dispatch as necessary.

Required Equipment & Uniform

• Body Armor: Concealable or tactical body armor (Level IIIA recommended).
• Firearm & Ammunition: Duty firearm with a minimum of three 15-round magazines and duty-rated retention holster.
• Uniform: Black-on-black profile (Black duty tactical pants, black steel-toe or tactical boots, black duty belt). Company branded polo shirts will be provided.
• Duty Belt Accessories: High-lumen flashlight with belt pouch (essential for overnight construction patrols), handcuffs with key, and magazine pouches.
• Technology: Smartphone capable of running GuardMetrics for tour verification, real-time clock-ins, and digital incident reporting.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Certifications: Active PA Act 235 (Lethal Weapons Training Act) certification is strictly required.
• Transportation: Must have your own reliable personal vehicle to guarantee punctual arrival on-site.
• Experience: Background in security, asset protection, construction safety, military, or law enforcement preferred.
• Vigilance & Reliability: Strong work ethic, high alertness, and the ability to work independently outdoors/overnight without direct supervision.
