Finance Manager
The Role
The Finance Manager provides financial management and operational support across the organization to ensure the efficient and accurate handling of financial transactions. This role partners closely with internal departments and the finance team to manage daily financial activities, reporting, and payment processing. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with multiple responsibilities.
This role is located in Staunton, VA. We offer a flexible hybrid work environment, allowing you to enjoy the best of both worlds with 3-4 days in the office and up to1-2 days working remotely each week.
What You Will Do
- Distribute internal financial and operational reports
- Process enrollment bonuses and Association fees, including issuing payments to State Guard Associations
- Monitor the Truist bank account for premium remittances from Eagle State administrators
- Verify commission payments for accuracy
- Enter claims invoices and checks into QuickBooks
- Enter premium payments and accounts payable transactions into INFOR
- Generate and issue premium refund checks
- Complete expense reports for the VP and Director, National Guard Market
- Process cash receipts and reconcile related activity
- Process bank transfers and set up ACH reimbursements for claims payments
The Ideal Candidate
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in finance, accounting, or a related field
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service skills, including professional phone etiquette and the ability to demonstrate empathy
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to understand and communicate state laws and regulations related to claims processing and adjudication
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, demanding environment
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and solution‑oriented
- Ability to adapt to changing systems, priorities, and environments
- Strong time‑management and organizational skills
- Advanced computer proficiency with quick and accurate typing skills
