Responsibilities
- Lead the global application of the revenue recognition standard ASC 606 across Arm’s diverse revenue streams, including licensing, royalties, and sophisticated bundled arrangements!
- Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, providing accounting guidance and decision support on high-impact commercial deals and business initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Licensing, Sales, Finance, and Legal teams to structure agreements in a manner that aligns business objectives with compliant and optimized revenue outcomes.
- Act as the primary liaison coordinating efforts alongside external auditing parties, driving alignment on technical accounting interpretations, supporting audits, and proactively addressing emerging issues.
- Build and maintain robust revenue accounting policies and controls, governance frameworks, and documentation for sophisticated and nonstandard transactions.
- Identify and assess accounting implications of new business models, pricing strategies, and contractual structures.
- Champion the adoption of sophisticated analytics alongside artificial intelligence to improve revenue recognition processes, contract review, forecasting insights, and operational efficiency.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing revenue accounting team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration and business partnership.
- Drive continuous improvement in systems, controls, and processes to support scalability in a high-growth environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or related rigor required; CPA strongly preferred.
- 7-10 years of dynamic experience in revenue finance or technical accounting, including leadership roles in global, sophisticated organizations.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams of 10 individuals
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of ASC 606 with shown experience applying guidance to sophisticated, multi-element arrangements (e.g., licensing, IP, software, or technology contracts).
- Audit Experience: Strong experience working with Big Four firms (including leading audit interactions and resolving technical accounting matters.
- Business Partnership: Shown ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, Licensing, and executive leadership to influence deal structuring and outcomes.
- Technology Attitude: Experience demonstrating or implementing AI, automation, or sophisticated tools within accounting or finance processes is highly desirable.
- Industry Knowledge: Semiconductor, technology, or IP-based business model experience is strongly preferred.
- Recognized authority in revenue accounting with strong judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
- Executive presence demonstrating clear communication of sophisticated accounting topics to senior leaders and non-finance collaborators.
- Collaborative and influential leader, skilled at working across organizational boundaries.
- Strategic problem solver with a proactive, results-focused approach attitude.
- High attention to detail with the ability to lead multiple sophisticated priorities simultaneously.
