Turbomachinery Repair Cost Estimator

You start your morning syncing with accounting and operations to align on customer standards and commitments. RFQs, work scopes, drawings, and specifications are on your screen as you translate requirements into clear costs and schedules. Throughout the day, you partner closely with machinists, welders, inspectors, engineers, and management to ensure every estimate is accurate, competitive, and profitable.

• Estimating and quoting for steam turbines, gas turbines, generators, gearboxes, and auxiliary equipment repairs
• Building detailed labor, machining, welding, balancing, coating, and material cost models
• Determining turnaround time based on shop capacity and current workload
• Producing formal customer quotes and proposals

• Verifying manpower and machine availability with operations
• Tracking approved work from quote stage to production release
• Issuing change orders and revised estimates when additional damage is identified
• Assisting purchasing with material and subcontractor pricing

• Managing job cost billing for fixed price contract milestones and for Time and Materials jobs
• Uploading finalized invoices and supporting documents to client procurement and PO portals such as Ariba, Coupa, and Textura

• Maintaining organized electronic and paper files for project contracts, estimates, and financial records
• Keeping historical cost databases and repair records up to date
• Improving estimating accuracy and profitability through lessons learned
• Standardizing repair pricing templates and processes

• High school diploma or GED required
• Technical degree or trade background preferred
• Strong math and costing skills
• Proficiency in Excel and Word

• Detail oriented and highly organized
• Able to prioritize multiple estimates at once
• Clear, professional communicator
• Problem solving mindset
• Comfortable working under deadlines
