Our US Gas Marketing Group is currently looking to add a Junior Gas Originator / Junior Mid-Marketer to the team, based in Houston, TX.
This position will contribute as an expert on structured risk opportunities within a defined region of the USA. Regions of focus are the Mid-West and East markets, where the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate convertible market insight. The role will be part of ARM Energy’s Origination capacity.

What You’ll Do
- Participate in all aspects of a creative & empowered startup trading business, including working with internal customers such as contracts, risk, legal, and credit as well as external customers to establish & grow a physical presence in regional gas markets
- Build and maintain a dynamic and robust pipeline of origination opportunities that align with the commercial strategy; includes term supply and sales transactions, transportation, storage, and other structured transactions that leverage ARM Energy’s competitive strengths
- Serve as the internal and external expert on market developments and issues impacting individual customers in target markets
- Utilize experience in regional markets, and relationships with gas market participants to help establish presence and execute on long term business objectives
- Execute complex, multi-year and high value agreements, structured arrangements, and / or asset management agreements
- Participate in developing overall market view through customer interactions to gain market intelligence and communicate with internal teams
Minimum Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Marketing, Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Engineering
- 3 to 5 years of related experience in this environment
- Familiarity with supply and demand fundamentals and customer contacts in one or more of the defined regional markets
- Proven ability to negotiate and close complex deals
- Knowledge of ISDA and NAESB type standard agreements.
- Understanding of flexible agreements including Asset Management Agreements
- Strong commercial acumen with experience integrating energy markets and value maximization strategies across natural gas value chain (upstream, midstream and downstream markets)
- Demonstrable ability to develop strong working relationships with all levels and business units of the organization
- Ability to work independently and effectively with a team
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills required
- Strong analytical, evaluation skills
- Pragmatic and entrepreneurial minded- able to take initiative and ownership of assignments
- Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously with extreme attention to detail
- Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or relevant subject
- Deep & demonstrable knowledge of regional gas pipeline tariffs, together with associated pipeline transportation holders & trade liquidity providers
- Strong origination experience on pipelines adjoined to ARM Energy’s asset footprint
