ARM Consultants LLC is seeking a motivated Junior Roof Consultant / CAD Designer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual at the beginning of their career who is interested in architecture, drafting, roofing, building science, or the building-envelope industry.
The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced team of roof consultants, architects and engineers while developing skills in CAD drafting, roof inspections, construction documentation, and project coordination. The position is designed to provide hands-on experience to learn and grow within the industry.
Responsibilities
- Create AutoCAD drawings, roof plans, details, and construction documents.
- Assist with the development of plans and specifications for both repair and replacement of roofs.
- Visit project sites to document existing roof and building conditions.
- Assist with roof inspections and field measurements.
- Photograph and document existing conditions during field investigations.
- Assist with preparing inspection reports, project documentation, and client deliverables.
- Assist project architects, engineers, and Sr. roof consultants with ongoing projects.
- Organize project information, photographs, drawings, and field notes.
- Assist with reviewing contractor submittals and project documentation.
- Support project teams during bidding and construction administration.
- Learn to identify common roofing and construction conditions.
- Assist with roof asset management and long-term maintenance planning.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation.
- Communicate professionally with team members, contractors, and clients.
- Travel throughout New England for site visits and inspections.
- Perform other project-related duties as needed.
Requirements
- Must reside local to New England.
- Intermediate AutoCAD skills required.
- Recent graduates and candidates with relevant drafting, construction, roofing, or architectural experience are encouraged to apply.
- 0–3 years of professional experience.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office preferred.
- Ability to read and understand architectural and construction drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote project team.
- Comfortable performing field work, including accessing roofs and climbing ladders when required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel throughout New England.
- A valid driver's license is required.
