Machine Design Engineer - Robotics and Industrial Automation

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Review requirements and develop/analyze technical concepts for new projects
• Plan and detailed design of machines, tooling and custom sub-systems
• Work with teams of engineers and programmers on system architectures
• Contribute to cost estimation on projects
• Develop simulations and perform cycle time analysis on designs
• Utilize modern CAD and design tools (Solidworks is our primary CAD environment)
• Prepare detailed drawings and informed documentation for vendors and fabricators to follow
• Identify and select off-the-shelf components suitable for use
• Interface with customers on requirements and integration
• Oversee system testing, installation and commissioning
• Track progress against cost and time goals

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or demonstrated track record in machine design
• Hands-on experience in design-build-test of new equipment
• Experience in a relevant technical discipline
• 2 years experience in industrial automation and machine design
• Strong CAD skills
• Willing to submit to a background check and drug test
• Valid drivers license
• Authorized to work in the U.S (qualify as a "US Person" per US Federal standards)
• Ability to travel (primarily within the US) on an periodic basis (between 5-10 wk/yr)
• Some accommodation for remote work, but regular in-office time is required
