Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Maintenance Assistant to support the day-to-day upkeep and operations of our community. As a Maintenance Assistant at Arlington Senior Living, you will work alongside the Maintenance Director to ensure our facility remains safe, well-maintained, and comfortable for residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with routine maintenance, repairs, and upkeep throughout the facility
- Perform general repairs including painting, patching, plumbing, and carpentry
- Respond promptly to maintenance work orders submitted by residents and staff
- Assist with HVAC filter changes, lighting replacements, and minor electrical tasks
- Help maintain the exterior grounds, parking areas, and common spaces
- Support move-in and move-out unit turnovers (painting, cleaning, minor repairs)
- Assist with setup and breakdown for facility events and activities
- Perform safety checks and assist with fire and life safety inspections
- Report maintenance concerns and equipment issues to the Maintenance Director
- Follow all safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and facility policies
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Prior experience in maintenance, facilities, or a related trade – preferred
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs
- Ability to read and follow work orders and maintenance logs
- Strong work ethic with a positive, team-player attitude
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Valid driver's license – preferred
- Experience in a senior living, healthcare, or hospitality setting – a plus
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
