JOB DESCRIPTION

 

POSITION: Board Certified Behavior Analyst 

 

Qualifications:

 

  1. Certified BCBA
  2. Knowledge of child development, special education and behavioral interventions
  3. Knowledge of Federal and State special education laws and regulations
  4. Experience working with students directly, either as a teacher, social worker or related service provider.
  5. Experience developing behavior plans and crisis management plans
  6. Masters Degree and DESE licensure preferred
  7. TCI training preferred
  8. Strong organizational skills required.

 

Job Duties: 

 

  1. Determine specific behavior problems or social adjustment difficulties of students and recommend interventions.  
  2. Draft and implement behavior plans and individual crisis management plans
  3. Conduct functional behavioral assessments
  4. Prepare progress reports and evaluations
  5. Administer appropriate and necessary testing
  6. Assist administrators, teachers and staff in using appropriate behavioral strategies and interventions
  7. Counsel students in identifying and addressing issues
  8. Work with parents and apprise them of problems and progress
  9.   Participate in conference, evaluations, and IEP meetings as appropriate
  10. Keep abreast of developments in the field. 

 

This is a District-wide position, with primary caseloads at Arlington High School and Ottoson Middle School. 


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  183 Days

REPORTS TO:  Special Education Coordinator and Building Principal 

Salary and Benefits are consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Arlington School Committee and the Arlington Education Association.  

 

The Salary Schedule is on our website.  Salary placement is based on Education and Experience. 

 

Arlington has a well-established new teacher induction program with mentoring throughout the school year. The first official work day in the 2026-2027 school year will be August 31, 2026. However, new staff are required to attend several days of orientation and training during the last two weeks of August.

Salary : $60,100 - $76,413
