Pay rate: $20.00 per hour

Job Description
POSITION: Lunch/Recess Monitor
JOB GOAL: The lunch/recess monitor will support students in the school during lunch and/or recess.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children
- Flexible with duties and responsibilities. Ability to shift gears as needed.
- Assist children in moving through the lunch line to ensure students are able to get lunch.
- Assist children as needed with opening food and drink containers.
- Monitor cafeteria during lunch to ensure that students are eating lunch and behaving according the the school rules.
- Wipe down tables at the end of each lunch group.
- Speak in a calm, professional manner to students and other staff members. No yelling at students.
- Actively play with children during recess.
- Assist children who need support
- Actively monitor playground for safety and ensuring students are playing safely.
- Help students transition to and from recess.
- Work collaboratively with the building administration, teachers and custodians to ensure that the lunch periods run smoothly and that recess is a safe and fun part of the day.
