ROLE AND PURPOSE:
Responsible for supporting the institution's Title IX compliance efforts by managing reports of sexual misconduct, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. This role involves coordinating investigations, maintaining case documentation, ensuring timely case resolution, and supporting complainants and respondents throughout the Title IX process. The Case Manager collaborates with the Title IX Coordinator and other campus stakeholders to promote a safe, inclusive, and legally compliant environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in related field
- Preference may be given to candidates with previous training and knowledge of educational laws, specifically civil rights in education, or professional-level experience investigating or auditing civil rights laws in educational institutions.
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the area of Title IX compliance, policy making/interpretation or employee relations investigations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse constituents, including children, parents, faculty, staff, and institution administration.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and exercise consistent good judgement.
- Ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and work independently.
- Demonstrated ability to execute effective written and oral communications, be detail-oriented, organize and coordinate work, prioritize all work, and effectively use technology and software.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- A working knowledge of current laws, regulations, and guidance related to sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation discrimination in public schools, including Title IX.
- A detailed understanding of appropriate and effective investigation procedures, including documentation and follow-up.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
I. COMPLIANCE & CASE MANAGEMENT:
- Assist with inquiries related to Title IX grievance procedures and provide information to students, staff, and parents.
- Coordinate communication between the Title IX office and relevant district personnel, including school administrators and counselors as needed.
- Facilitate supportive measures and accommodations as directed by the Title IX Coordinator
- Receive and track reports of Title IX-related incidents, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
- Maintain a secure and organized case management system to monitor progress and compliance with timelines.
- Support the development and implementation of training for students, faculty, and staff on Title IX- related topics.
- Coordinate and monitor the district's compliance with Title IX, as well as state civil rights requirements regarding discrimination and harassment based on sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
- Exhibits high professionalism, standards of conduct and work ethic within the organization and with parents, students, and administrators.
- Collaborate with other district professionals who share overlapping responsibilities.
II. OTHER DUTIES:
- Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
- Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
