Type of Position: Long Term Sub Visual Arts Teacher (January-March, 2026)
Location: Arlington High School, Arlington, MA
POSITION GOALS: We are looking for an innovative STEAM educator who can inspire students to become life-long learners and creative risk-takers, and provide students with the technical skills and Habits of Mind they need to solve problems and realize their own creative vision
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach high school Metalsmithing & Jewelry Making (levels I and II) and co-teach Design Engineering courses (levels I and II).
Qualifications: (preferred) Valid DESE licensure in at least one of the following areas: Visual Arts, Science, Technology/Engineering, or Voc-Tech: Manufacturing, Engineering, and Technology Cluster.
- Experience in metalsmithing, jewelry making, and woodworking, and teaching these skills to high school students.
- Experience working with engineering, digital fabrication and design (3D printing, laser cutter, CnC machines, etc.), and teaching these skills to high school students.
- An understanding of the design thinking process as it applies to science, technology, arts, and industrial fabrication.
- Experience using CADD softwares such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, Revit, etc.
