What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infection Preventionist and Staff Development Coordinator (SDC/IP) position at Arlington Health and Rehabilitation?
Come and join a team that celebrates working in an employee centered facility! We recognize that if we are going to provide the best care to our residents we must start with providing the best treatment to our employees. So if you desire to work in a fun environment, where you have the power to be an agent of change - this may be the right job for you!
Arlington Health and Rehab is a small skilled nursing facility. We are locally owned and operated. This is an environment that feels like family, and where employees are happy to come to work. We pride ourselves on employee longevity, dynamite life enrichment program, and happy and healthy staff and residents.
This RN management position is a mix of infection prevention and control (certification will be necessary within first 3 months, facility will pay fee and hours to learn), and staff development/education. Position is 40 hours a week and primarily day shift hours. There is an obligation to be on call 1 weekend every month.
This is a very rewarding job. Infection Prevention and Control is a hot item since the pandemic began. As an infection preventionist you will do a lot of staff training, auditing of resident outcomes, collaboration with the Nightingale Healthcare Clinical Innovation and Excellence Nurses, fellow Infection Preventionists, and the Snohomish County Health Department. The facility will pay for your certification fees and the time it takes to complete the certification course.
The infection Preventionist monitors all communicable diseases within the facility, and resident and staff vaccination and health status. Daily rounding to assure proper infection prevention measures are in place and working well. You also keep a running count of antibiotics being used in the facility and measure them to the criteria for antibiotic stewardship. Monthly, Quarterly and Annual audits and reports are completed and presented at the QAPI meetings. This position works very closely with the Director of Nursing.
The Staff Development portion of the job requires a lot of time working with and for the staff of the facility. Trainings, in-servicing; one on ones and in larger groups. For this portion of the job you really must be a person that loves to work with and grow teams. The collaboration that needs to happen between the staff and yourself will only happen if you are authentic, fun and follow through on your promises to them. When the greatest outcome we aim for is to take the best care of our residents, we must first start with how we care for our staff!
If this sounds like a good position for you please reach out. You can apply via really or call the building and ask for the Director of Nursing, Mylene.
We look forward to connecting with you!
