Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing exceptional customer service at all times
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Schedule appointments accurately while coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily workflow
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including insurance verification for dental and medical plans such as Medicare or Medicaid
- Collect payments, process billing, and perform medical collection activities when necessary
- Maintain accurate and confidential dental records and medical documentation in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Open dental
- Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly and courteously
- Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and other health information management standards
- Assist with office management tasks such as filing, faxing, data entry, and managing dental office supplies
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a dental office or medical administrative support role with strong front desk or receptionist background
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, CPT coding, and dental billing practices
- Ability to handle insurance verification processes efficiently and accurately
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and typing skills (including 10-key typing)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and office management tasks
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Prior clinic experience or hospital experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and a friendly demeanor
