Duties
- Supervise and mentor a team of animal care technicians, ensuring high-quality husbandry and clinical support
- Oversee daily cleaning, feeding, watering, and enrichment activities for all animals in the facility
- Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint, medication administration, and sample collection using proper aseptic techniques
- Support clinical procedures such as catheterization, laboratory testing, and radiography under veterinarian supervision
- Maintain accurate records of animal health, treatments, and procedures while adhering to veterinary terminology standards
- Coordinate intake and discharge processes at front desk operations while providing excellent pet care information to clients
- Recruit, train, and mentor kennel staff. You will set the tone for a positive, hard-working environment.
- Be the face of our business by providing updates and service to pet parents.
- Manage bookings, inventory, and facility maintenance to keep things running like clockwork.
- Monitor animal behavior and health closely, coordinating with vets when necessary. Assisting Animal Control to have stray dogs assessed and promoted on social media for adoption
- Keeping kennels and hospital disinfected to prevent the spread of illnesses.
- Maintaining kennels, dishes, laundry, and bedding making sure everything is tidy.
- Deep knowledge of dog behavior, handling techniques, and bathing services.
- You are ready to roll up your sleeves, work in all weather, and manage the physical demands of the job.
- Familiarity with Cornerstone Veterinary Software and social media platforms.
- Proven kennel experience combined with strong animal husbandry skills across various species
- Hands-on experience with animal restraint techniques, medication administration, and laboratory procedures
- A background in veterinary assistant roles or laboratory work enhances your candidacy
