What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Tech position at Arkids Pediatric Day Centers?
The Environmental Teach/Floater's main responsibility is cleaning and restocking the facility. Areas include, but are not limited to, offices, corridors, conference room, lobby/waiting area, restrooms. This position will also be cross-trained, as a Floater for the classrooms and kitchen.

- Cleaning duties to include, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing and trash removal
- Ability to follow daily/weekly/monthly cleaning schedule and document work performed
- Assisting with light maintenance work as needed
- Follow written and verbal instruction with minimal supervision
- Checks off deliveries and puts them in their designated spots
- Assists, as needed, with classroom duties such as lunch breaks
- Assists, as needed, with kitchen duties
- Ensures a positive emotional climate for the children during coverage through use of appropriate and approved techniques
- Maintains a professional, pleasant, and caring attitude towards children, parents and staff
- Creates a clean, safe, healthy, and sanitary learning environment
- Knowledgeable of minimum licensing, Health Dept., and other regulatory agencies’ guidelines
- Dependable, punctual, trustworthy and responsible
- Other duties as assigned
- H. S. Diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of successful custodial/janitorial experience preferred
- At least one year of successful experience in a classroom setting preferred
- Clear Criminal Record Check/Arkansas Child Maltreatment Registry Check/FBI Background Check
- Yearly completion of a minimum of 15 hours of continuing education through PDR
- Pass a drug screen (annually or random)
- Have a current CPR certification or ability to obtain
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors
- Ability to work with children
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment
- Ability to carry out instructions
- Ability to clean efficiently and timely
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to bend, stoop, stand, walk, pull and reach for several hours per day
