JOB DESCRIPTION PRODUCTION PLANNER
Classification: Exempt Reports to: Director of Planning & Materials Date: January 2025
Objective: Responsible for the planning, releasing, and tracking workflow from the sales department and customer through manufacturing departments, making sure the product meets quality standards and ensuring deadlines are met.
Essential Functions

- Responsible for managing print flow schedules
- Analyze and organize on-hand inventory
- Develop a plan for meeting on-time delivery of finished goods.
- Enters manufacturing orders to be scheduled by production.
- Define order quantities, urgency of need and outstanding commitments
- Liaison with sales force and Customer Service personnel to resolve customer related issues
- Maintain accurate data within the AMS/WMS system
- Coordinate and expedite special request deliveries
- Ensuring organizational systems and training are in place and documented.
- Offer suggestions with regard to procedures and standards to facilitate work and maintain product quality.
- Analyze facts or circumstances surrounding situations to determine appropriate outcome.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness of work area
- Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no direct supervisory role.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an office environment as well as on the production floor, interacting with other employees. It is fast-paced and requires positive and professional social interaction. The noise level in the work environment can range from minimal to loud.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and use fingers to type and operate a mouse. Vision abilities include: close vison, peripheral vision, depth perception, color identification and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to speak, write, type and hear. Proper and safe use of pallet jack and weigh scales. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move items up to 10 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and regular hours are Monday through Friday. Increased hours may be required when production schedules dictate.
Travel: The need to travel is minimal for this position.
Required Education and Experience: BS in Logistics or Print Management experience in a production or manufacturing environment; familiarity with MRP/ERP systems.
Preferred Education and Experience: 4-6 years of experience in the folding carton or packaging industry; APICS training or certification preferred.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Legally eligible to work in the United States and successful completion of background and drug screens.
