Arkansas Talent Group is seeking an experienced Accountant to join an established and reputable marketing company in Little Rock, AR. This is a contract assignment with strong potential to convert to a permanent position for the right candidate. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who is also comfortable wearing an HR hat in a smaller, close-knit team environment.
About the Role
The Accountant will own full-cycle accounting functions while also supporting core HR operations for the organization. This hybrid position is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys being a trusted resource across departments, and wants the stability of an established local company with room to grow into a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting
- Manage full-cycle accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end close
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes in partnership with leadership
- Reconcile accounts and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Support audit preparation and respond to ad hoc financial reporting requests
HR Support
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and employee terminations/offboarding
- Administer employee benefits enrollment and serve as a point of contact for benefits questions
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule
- Support HR compliance efforts, including maintaining required documentation and staying current on applicable employment regulations
- Assist with maintaining personnel files and HR recordkeeping best practices
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience with full-cycle accounting, including financial statement preparation, budgeting, and forecasting
- Working knowledge of core HR functions: onboarding, offboarding, benefits coordination, payroll, and HR compliance
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Online or Sage Intacct is a huge plus
- Strong attention to detail, discretion with confidential information, and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally in a small-team setting
- Prior experience in a marketing, agency, or professional services environment is a plus but not required
