What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant/Bookkeeper position at Arkansas Talent Group?
Arkansas Talent Group is working with the fastest growing Accounting firm in Arkansas to help them find a Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper to take ownership of client bookkeeping, payroll, and financial statement preparation. In this role, you will work with a variety of clients across different industries, giving you the chance to apply your skills in new ways every day.
Role is onsite and located in Stuttgart, AR. Office hours 8am - 4:30pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and payroll for multiple clients.
- Prepare accurate financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual).
- Reconcile accounts and ensure records are complete and correct.
- Communicate directly with clients to answer questions and provide support.
- Work with QuickBooks, ADP, and other accounting software — and adapt easily as tools evolve.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, but not required
- 3 years of experience in bookkeeping and payroll processing
- Experience preparing monthly financial statements and account reconciliations
- Strong accounting fundamentals and attention to detail.
- Exposure to individual tax preparation (1040s/W-2s) is a strong plus
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks online and desktop experience highly preferred
- Excellent organizational and client service skills
- Ability to balance multiple clients' needs while keeping deadlines on track
