Position Summary:
The Institutional Printer is responsible for producing various printed materials, such as forms, pamphlets, and other requested items, while also providing support in layout design when needed. This role is governed by state and federal regulations, as well as institutional policies. The position oversees the pre-press operations and requires a foundational understanding of printing terminology and production workflows. The printer will set up, operate, and maintain digital printing equipment to produce high-quality black-and-white and color prints.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate digital printing machines to produce high-quality print materials, both black-and-white and color.
- Assist in or oversee layout design for printed materials as needed.
- Runs jobs on single, two-color, and four-color presses
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of all print jobs, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory guidelines.
- Supervisor and takes on initiative to accomplish any and all tasks
- Manage and maintain spreadsheets and other records using Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the needs of the department.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of printing operations, procedures and related terminology
Knowledge of graphic design
Knowledge of Adobe programs like InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs like Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Ability to maintain inventory and requisition supplies
Ability to review print orders, determine materials needed, and produce a finished product
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance

Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education of a High School Diploma
A college degree in the field of Graphic Arts or Graphic Design is preferred but not required.
Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee
