Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere at the front desk
- Manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software Open Dental, ensuring optimal patient flow
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits accurately documenting all details
- Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly and professionally
- Collect and process payments,
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
- Assist with intake procedures, dental terminology explanations, and updating patient information.
Experience
- Previous experience as a medical or dental receptionist in a clinical setting is highly preferred
- Familiarity with dental terminology and insurance verification processes
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and data entry (10 key typing)
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly under HIPAA guidelines
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Prior clinic or hospital experience involving medical administrative support, documentation review, and office management
