Responsibilities
- Perform clothing alterations including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, resizing, and repairing garments with precision and care.
- Execute garment construction tasks such as sewing, stitching, pressing, and finishing fabrics using various sewing machines and pressing equipment.
- Use hand sewing techniques for delicate or detailed work requiring meticulous attention to detail.
- Application of patches per detailed Uniform Spec sheets.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure all tools and equipment are properly cared for and functioning efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to quality standards and deadlines.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of retail environment and customer service principles.
- Proficiency in clothing alterations, garment sewing, stitching, and garment construction techniques.
- Experience operating pressing machines, sewing machines, and press operation tools effectively.
- Skilled in hand sewing for detailed or delicate work requiring precision.
- Familiarity with fabric materials, their properties, and appropriate handling methods.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements, sizing adjustments, and fabric estimations.
- Knowledge of men’s wear tailoring, women’s wear tailoring, and custom apparel production processes.
