Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote infant and toddler development, including sensory play, motor skills, and early language acquisition
- Support daily routines such as feeding, diapering, nap time, and outdoor play with patience and care
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment by following health and safety protocols, including pediatric first aid and mandated reporting laws
- Engage with children through positive interactions that encourage social-emotional growth and curiosity
- Help monitor children’s progress and communicate observations to the lead teacher for ongoing development assessments
- Support classroom management strategies that foster respectful behavior and cooperative play
- Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent caregiving practices aligned with early childhood education standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with infants, toddlers, or young children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or similar settings
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in pediatric first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Familiarity with special education needs and working with individuals with disabilities is a plus
- Understanding of classroom management techniques tailored for infants and toddlers
- Ability to follow safety guidelines related to childcare and caregiving responsibilities
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to working with children and families
