Job Summary

Join our vibrant early childhood education team as an Assistant Infant Teacher, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help nurture the youngest learners during their critical developmental stages. In this paid role, you will support lead teachers in creating a safe, engaging, and loving environment for infants and toddlers. Responsibilities

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote infant and toddler development, including sensory play, motor skills, and early language acquisition
  • Support daily routines such as feeding, diapering, nap time, and outdoor play with patience and care
  • Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment by following health and safety protocols, including pediatric first aid and mandated reporting laws
  • Engage with children through positive interactions that encourage social-emotional growth and curiosity
  • Help monitor children’s progress and communicate observations to the lead teacher for ongoing development assessments
  • Support classroom management strategies that foster respectful behavior and cooperative play
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent caregiving practices aligned with early childhood education standards

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with infants, toddlers, or young children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or similar settings
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
  • Certification in pediatric first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Familiarity with special education needs and working with individuals with disabilities is a plus
  • Understanding of classroom management techniques tailored for infants and toddlers
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines related to childcare and caregiving responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to working with children and families
