Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Murex Environment Manager / Technical Lead to oversee the management, stability, availability, and technical support of the Murex MX.3 platform environments across development, testing, UAT, pre-production, and production landscapes.
The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in Murex architecture, environment management, release coordination, middleware, and infrastructure support, with strong experience managing platform stability, deployments, performance optimization, and incident resolution in a global banking environment.
This role will work closely with Murex Development, Infrastructure, DevOps, Release Management, Market Risk, Front Office, Operations, and Production Support teams.
Job Responsibilities:
Murex Environment Management
Manage and maintain all Murex MX.3 environments including:
o Development
o SIT
o UAT
o Performance Testin
o Pre-Production
o Production
Ensure platform stability, availability, and readiness across environments.
Coordinate environment refreshes, cloning, and data migrations.
Manage environment schedules, booking calendars, and conflict resolution between project teams.
Technical Leadership
Serve as the technical lead for Murex platform support and environment management.
Provide technical guidance to development, QA, and infrastructure teams.
Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for Murex environment issues.
Drive platform improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies.
Release & Deployment Management
- Coordinate Murex code deployments, configuration releases, and production migrations.
- Manage release planning, deployment windows, and rollback procedures.
- Ensure controlled SDLC and change management processes are followed.
- Support version upgrades, patching, and Murex package deployments.
Infrastructure & Platform Support
Work closely with infrastructure teams to manage:
o Linux/Unix servers
o Database environments (Oracle, SQL)
o Middleware and messaging systems
o Batch scheduling
o File transfers and integrations
Monitor system health, performance, storage, and capacity utilization.
Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
Murex Technical Administration
Manage:
o Murex services and component
o Grid computing
o Batch processing
o Interfaces and connectivity
o Security/access controls
o Environment configuration -
Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and system outages.
Support Murex upgrades and platform modernization initiatives.
Production Support & Incident Management
- Lead incident management and problem resolution for environment/platform issues.
- Coordinate with business, support, and vendor teams during critical incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.
- Ensure SLA adherence and platform reliability.
Automation & DevOps Drive automation of:
o Environment provisioning
o Health checks
o Deployment activities
o Monitoring and alerting
o Batch validations
Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD improvements.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Finance Technology, or related field.
8 years of IT experience, including 5 years supporting Murex MX.3 environments.
5 years of Strong experience managing multiple Murex environments in enterprise banking environments. Deep understanding of Murex technical architecture and deployment lifecycle.
· At least 5 Experience with:
o Linux/Unix
o Oracle/SQL databases
o Shell scripting
o Scheduling tools
o Middleware/integration platforms
Experience managing production support and release cycles.
