Business Analyst – Demand & Capacity Planning Solutions(Local to San Diego , CA )

Role : Lead Business Analyst – Demand & Capacity Planning Solutions

Location: San Diego, CA (Local candidates only, it is 100% Onsite)

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst with exceptional requirements gathering and stakeholder facilitation capabilities to lead the evaluation and implementation of enterprise planning solutions. This role will partner with business users, subject matter experts (SMEs), IT, and vendors across multiple facilities, countries, and business units to define requirements, evaluate software options, drive consensus, and lead implementation as the primary Business Analyst.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical rigor, structured documentation skills, and hands-on experience supporting complex, cross-functional supply chain processes—preferably Demand Planning and Capacity Planning.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements & Analysis

·        Lead end-to-end requirements gathering using interviews, workshops, and process walkthroughs with global stakeholders

·        Develop high-quality business analysis deliverables, including:

·        Business requirements documents (BRDs)

·        Functional and non-functional requirements

·        Use cases and user stories

·        As-Is and To-Be process flows

·        Business rules, data requirements, and assumptions

·        Ensure requirements are clear, testable, traceable, and aligned to business objectives

Stakeholder & SME Leadership

• Act as the primary liaison between business users, SMEs, IT, and external vendors
• Facilitate cross-functional and cross-geography workshops to align on scope, priorities, and future-state design
• Drive alignment and build consensus across business units with differing needs and constraints
• Communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Software Evaluation & Selection

·        Lead the business analysis effort for software evaluation of:

·        Demand Planning solutions

·        Enterprise Manufacturing Slotting / Capacity Planning solutions

·        Define evaluation criteria, scoring models, and business scenarios

·        Support RFP/RFI activities, vendor demos, and proof-of-concept evaluations

·        Synthesize findings and recommendations to enable executive and steering committee decisions

·        Drive consensus on solution selection

Implementation & Delivery

·        Serve as the Lead Business Analyst during implementation of the selected solution

·        Translate business requirements into functional designs and support configuration decisions

·        Partner with project managers, solution architects, developers, and vendors throughout delivery

·        Support testing activities (SIT, UAT), defect triage, and user acceptance

·        Ensure implemented solutions meet business intent and deliver expected value

Preferred Domain Knowledge

·        Working knowledge or hands-on experience in:

·        Demand Planning

·        Capacity Planning

·        Manufacturing or supply chain planning processes

·        Familiarity with enterprise planning concepts such as forecasting, constraints, slotting, and resource optimization is highly preferred

Required Skills & Qualifications

·        Strong expertise in business analysis methodologies and best practices

·        Proven ability to produce clear, structured, and high-quality analysis artifacts

·        Demonstrated experience working with global, distributed teams across multiple locations and time zones

·        Excellent facilitation, communication, and influencing skills

·        Ability to manage ambiguity and drive clarity in complex enterprise environments

·        Experience leading analysis efforts on large, cross-functional system implementations
