ARIZONA YOUTH PARTNERSHIP POSITION: Program Educator / Project STAND Coordinator HOURS: Full-time, 40 hours per week, with some evenings and weekends as needed SUPERVISED BY: Director of Community Initiatives/Program Manager LOCATIONS: Primarily Pima and Santa Cruz Counties, with travel to other rural AZ counties as needed STATUS: Non-exempt | PAY: $19/hour or per salary schedule FUNDING: Grant funded through: AZ Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith, and Families
POSITION SUMMARY This position combines responsibilities from the Stronger Families Project and Project STAND (Stand up to Trauma And make New Decisions), delivering evidence-based prevention, family-strengthening, and trauma-informed programming to youth, parents/caregivers, and communities in rural Arizona. The role includes outreach, recruitment, facilitation, event planning, and coordination with schools, community partners, and coalitions to address risk factors for substance use, strengthen families, and promote resiliency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Recruit and engage youth, parents/caregivers, and community members for programs.
- Facilitate evidence-based curricula, including Strengthening Families 10–14, PACT360 RX, Too Good for Drugs, Mind Matters, Botvin’s Parent Program, Adverse Childhood Experiences, and Trauma Informed Care.
- Schedule, promote, and deliver sessions in schools, community centers, and other venues.
- Plan and implement prevention activities such as Prom Promise, Teen Maze, escape rooms, mock DUI events, and community events like drug take backs and resource fairs.
- Collaborate with schools, probation, coalitions, and community organizations to expand program reach.
- Coordinate logistics, secure venues, prepare materials, and ensure compliance with AZYP and funder requirements.
- Track participation, collect and input data, prepare reports, and meet grant deliverables.
- Promote AZYP programs at public events and through marketing materials.
- Train and supervise interns/volunteers as needed.
- Provide coverage for Youth & Family Programs when needed and cross-refer participants to other AZYP services.
- Apply trauma-informed principles to all activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field OR equivalent experience working with youth, families, and diverse communities.
- Prior facilitation or teaching experience; strong presentation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of rural Arizona, prevention strategies, and youth substance use issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; creative, flexible, team-oriented.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel within assigned and other rural AZ counties.
- AZ driver’s license, reliable transportation, and required insurance ($100,000/$300,000).
- Fingerprint clearance, background check
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Completion of AZYP and funder-required training.
