What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursery Worker position at Arizona Wholesale Growers, Inc.?
Watering plants, planting plants, forklift, farm tractor, loading and unloading plants, plant inventory and cleaning.
Each year in the fall we receive thousands of bare root roses, trees and cactus that need to be planted in fields or nursery pots. The right candidate for this position will be expected to perform farm labor duties in the production and preparation for market of these ornamental plants, shrubs and trees in fields, and/or shipping-warehouse, using hand tools and mechanical aids, working as a member of a crew. This includes retrieving plants from the field
and bringing them to the potting area, unloading delivered plants from trucks and delivering them to the field or potting area, potting plants* at a potting machine, potting plants* at a tree canning area, bringing potted plants back
to the field and connecting them to irrigation.
Potting plants * - This includes proper pruning of the plant before it is planted in the next container, staking the plant and tying it to the stake and may include adding fertilizer at the time of planting.
Workers will be driving trucks under 26,001 pounds. Drivers will be transporting products between farms and material delivery. to customers. The workers will be driving a forklift, farm tractor, loading and unloading plants, inventory and cleaning.
