What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Technician III position at ARIZONA WATER COMPANY?
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the General Division Manager, Assistant Manager and the Operations Superintendent, the Field Service Technician ("FST") III must demonstrate a proficiency in communicating with the general public, Company employees, supervisors, and others. The FST III must demonstrate the ability to prepare clear, concise, and complete written reports, and must be able to work outdoors in all conditions. The FST III must understand and communicate information related to customer service, maintain proper conduct, and present a positive image of the Company. This position is staffed only in the Pinal Valley system.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school graduate with vocational training in pipefitting, electrical, or internal combustion engine crafts.
- Two years' experience in pipefitting or general maintenance mechanic with some pipefitting.
- Mature enough to work alone effectively.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment and welding experience.
- Understanding of water production and distribution methods and systems.
- Mechanical aptitude: use of hand tools and understanding of basic mechanics.
- Functionally literate and competent in basic mathematics.
- Must be able to use, or learn to use, the handheld meter reading device and related equipment.
PROFESSIONAL OR OTHER CERTIFICATION OR LICENSING

Must have a valid, appropriate Arizona driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Must have at least a valid Grade 1 Water Distribution System Operator Certification from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality.

- Hand tools and work equipment such as welders, backhoe, air compressors, etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be physically able to perform work that requires walking, bending, kneeling, digging, and lifting items of at least seventy-five (75) pounds in weight.
- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather.
