Job Description:
Pay Rate: $55,000 annually
The Ten Across (10X) Podcast Producer and Journalist is responsible for overseeing the creation, development, production, and promotion of podcast episodes for the Ten Across initiative. This role involves coordinating with other team members to produce high-quality audio and written content for 10X digital platforms. The producer will manage the entire production process, from concept development to publication, ensuring that content meets editorial standards and aligns with the initiative's goals and audience interests.
This position will also be responsible for developing promotional digital assets to be shared on the Ten Across website and social media channels, including edited video shorts and transcribed interviews for blog posts.
Essential Duties:
Content Planning and Development:
- Collaborate with editorial team to brainstorm podcast and digital journalism/blog ideas.
- Develop content plans and production schedules for podcast episodes and blog posts.
- Conduct research on specific topics and/or potential interviewees to develop questions and talking points for the podcast host and to support broader work.
- Write and edit articles, blog posts, and multimedia content for digital platforms. Craft compelling headlines and engaging stories that resonate with our target audience.
Production Management:
- Coordinate recording sessions, interviews, and other production activities.
- Direct and supervise recording sessions, ensuring high-quality audio/video and engaging performances.
- Edit audio recordings and written content to meet editorial standards and maintain brand consistency.
- Tailor, adapt, and edit content for podcast/video/social media.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with host and other team members to execute content strategies.
- Provide feedback and guidance to content creators to improve quality and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with marketing and distribution teams to promote podcast episodes and digital articles on social media and other digital platforms.
Audience Engagement:
- Promote podcast and blog content on social media platforms to increase visibility and drive traffic to 10X website and podcast distribution outlets.
- Monitor social media channels for news leads and engage with our audience to build community and foster discussion.
- Monitor audience feedback and engagement metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and future content development.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, media production, or a related field.
- Proven experience in podcast production, digital journalism, or a related field.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft engaging stories for audio and digital platforms.
- Proficiency in audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Pro Tools) and content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal).
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of podcasting best practices, audio storytelling techniques, and journalistic principles.
- Familiarity with SEO, social media marketing, and audience analytics tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Knowledge of social media content development, video editing, and best practices helpful.
