We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Senior Project Manager, Army Portfolio, to join our Project Management team. ASU has partnered with the United States military to reimagine their learning ecosystem and to encourage and promote lifelong learning during a service member's time in and out of uniform. Every day you’ll make a difference in the lives of others by leading and delivering complex projects from initiation through completion.
You will align teams and resources, drive progress, and communicate clearly across all levels of the organization. While a deep knowledge of the U.S. military is not necessary to be successful in this role, you must be able to clearly articulate the next steps to both ASU and the U.S. military and to push the project forward through a collaborative, iterative approach.
The responsibilities are broad in scope, encompassing a wide variety of activities, sometimes requiring shifts in priorities. You will take initiative, demonstrate a sense of urgency, use good organizational skills, build a project team, and follow through on commitments to achieve high-quality, repeatable results.
Essential Duties
$90,000 - $100,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties
- Plan, develop, implement, and manage project teams through complete task definitions and work requirement identification and assignments.
- Work closely and collaboratively with project teams and key stakeholders to define project scope, strategy, budget, and outcomes; identify critical resource expertise; and target internal and/or external sources to ensure optimal results.
- Establish and continually monitor/manage project expectations with the team; assign tasks and identify issues for resolution to ensure team effectiveness; and escalate issues as needed.
- Prepare and maintain all project status reports and schedules; track milestones, deliverables, issues, critical paths, and dependencies; and reset expectations as necessary based on project progress.
- Respond to inquiries regarding project status; prepare status reports and communications for stakeholders.
- Lead, support, and guide all project team members, including internal staff and external partners, to ensure project success. Build and maintain strong relationships critical to achieving project goals.
- Identify and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Implement applicable Project Management methodology throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare post-project reports and summaries to ensure timely dissemination of insights and learnings.
- Collaborate with project teams and key stakeholders to strategize for successful project deployment and enterprise-scale product implementation.
- Occasional travel is required for partner engagement.
- Assume or coordinate additional duties or projects as assigned or directed.
- This is not a fully remote position. Must be able to reliably commute to Scottsdale, Arizona.
- This is a grant funded position. Continuation is contingent on future grant funding.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
- Evidence of strong knowledge of Project Management principles, practices and techniques needed to support large, complex initiatives.
- Experience working with a wide variety of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
- Demonstrated success managing complex projects.
- Evidence of strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with process optimization.
- Evidence of professional certification(s) in project management, such as PMP, PMI-ACP, or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
- Demonstrated proficiency with project tracking and collaboration tools, especially Jira.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve conflict effectively.
- Evidence of being comfortable navigating ambiguity and moving initiatives forward.
- Evidence of excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated confident and effective presenter.
- Evidence of familiarity with collaborative course creation.
- Describe how you build and maintain strong working relationships with team members and stakeholders.
- Explain how you communicate project updates and results to executive leadership in a clear, concise, and impactful way.
