The School of Community Resources and Development (SCRD) in the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions at Arizona State University invites applications for Faculty Associate and Academic Associate positions for the 2026-2027 academic year. Faculty Associates and Academic Associates are part-time appointments who are hired on one-semester renewable contracts to teach one or two courses (not to exceed 0.40 FTE) per semester, either in-person or online.
Faculty Associate and Academic Associate positions are fixed-term appointments that are not eligible for benefits, sabbaticals, or tenure. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load. Official transcripts are required prior to employment. Individuals employed as Faculty Associates and Academic Associates may not hold multiple, non-benefits eligible appointments at Arizona State University.
For this position, we seek a pool of qualified people who are available to teach in-person courses on ASU’s Downtown Phoenix or Tempe campus or online.

Essential Functions
- Teach and/or assist with courses as assigned.
- Deliver and/or assist in preparing engaging in-person (and/or online) lectures, discussions, and course content for assigned courses.
- Contribute to the creation and/or grading of course materials, assignments and exams according to rubrics.
- Manage Canvas learning management platform and hold office hours to assist students.
- Be responsive to student questions and discussion boards in Canvas.
- Applicants should be comfortable with technology; enjoy the idea of educating students in a higher education environment and bring demonstrated evidence of a strong appetite and success for teaching, leading, learning.

Required Qualifications
- An earned master’s degree in nonprofit leadership and management, educational leadership, public administration or a related field from an accredited institution by time of appointment.
- Experience working in nonprofits, public administration or related fields, especially in leadership capacities.
- Consistent with ASU’s Charter, a demonstrated commitment to inclusion.
- Prior higher education/adult teaching, guest lecturing and/or training experiences, online or in-person.
- Three years of related experience in the field of nonprofit leadership.
- Evidence of effective collaboration skills.
- Experience with technology/course management systems such as Canvas.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
