Job Description
The Mathis Group at Arizona State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar to join an international collaboration funded by the Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP). The project brings together researchers at ASU, the Max Planck Institute (MPI) in Marburg, Germany, and the Earth-Life Science Institute (ELSI) in Tokyo, Japan to investigate the chemical and physical foundations of life’s origins. The scholar will develop and analyze numerical models of chemical reaction networks, compare computational results to experimental data from collaborators, and play a key role in interpreting and facilitating collaboration between ASU, MPI Marburg, and ELSI Tokyo.
Essential Duties
- Develop, implement, and analyze computational models of chemical reaction networks

Compare and integrate computational results with experimental data
Collaborate closely with international partners and facilitate cross-site communication
Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences
Contribute to mentoring and training of students in the group
