America Reads Coordinator
The Program Coordinator reports to the America Reads Program Manager and is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating activities, functions and programs in accordance with priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications for the America Reads afterschool program. This includes collaborating with university staff and community partners to maintain quality experiences for America Reads student workers.
Essential Duties:
Operationalizing the America Reads Afterschool Program including:
Manages and supervises day-to-day operations of the America Reads Afterschool, Classroom, and Online programs as well as monitors team progress and activities.
Monitors human resource functions for program staff, ASU students, and community educators including interviewing, hiring, employment, payroll, and evaluations.
Supervises America Reads Site-Managers and America Reads Student Workers.
Hold weekly 1:1 and program meetings with direct reports and bi-weekly meetings with America Reads student staff to provide feedback and coaching.
Facilitates job skill training and monitors mandatory training participation for student workers.
Implements and updates America Reads program policies and handbooks.
Compiles and analyzes program assessment and evaluations.
Understands program budget parameters and controls expenditures in accordance with budget allocations.
Maintains program logistics, alignment to state standards and best practices in program delivery.
Maintains safe environments for all participants.
Developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with faculty, staff and site partners including:
Building relationships with existing site partners through in-person visits, Zoom meetings, phone calls, e-mails, and appreciation efforts in collaboration with America Reads staff and student workers.
Providing prospective and new partners with comprehensive information regarding America Reads Programs
Working with all Access ASU teams and internal ASU partnerships to strengthen and support student experiences
Participating in department, program and staff meetings
Attends seminars, workshops and conferences
Participating in to strengthen student experiences
Assists with other projects, reports and duties as assigned.

Working Environment:
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse
Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
