Auto Mechanic Team Member
The Auto Mechanic Team Member maintains and repairs vehicles, mobile equipment and off-road construction equipment to ensure they are safe and in reliable operating condition.
Job Description
This role performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment (dozers, cranes, loaders, etc.) including servicing, tuning, rebuilding and overhauling.
Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing various systems such as: gasoline and diesel engines, automatic and manual transmissions, air conditioning, hydraulic brakes, steering and wheel alignment, electrical and electronic systems, drive train and exhaust systems on automotive equipment.
Additional tasks include ordering parts, documenting time on work orders, updating computer database and researching factory manuals to solve difficult problems.
The team member will also perform oxyacetylene and electric welding, blacksmithing and fabricating, as well as maintenance repairs and inspections on mobile hydraulic systems.
They will be responsible for performing aerial safety inspections and repairs on lift equipment and related work as required, such as fuel truck driving, fuel dispensing and tire repair.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma/GED plus completion of an automotive trade school, automotive/diesel technology diploma, documented military equipment/mechanic program or completed a manufacturers specific automotive/equipment program.
- Five years of auto/diesel mechanic experience.
- Valid Drivers License.
- Standard NRC clearance.
- EEI CAST Test Administered.
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications
- Knowledge of vehicle systems, repair and maintenance.
