Under the direction of the Production Manager, Manufacturing Supervisor, and Maintenance Manager, the Tooling Production Technician is responsible for all activities related to the tooling room and manufacturing production tooling. This position will follow all applicable SOP’s, PPE, and cGMP requirements.
· Follow all company policies and procedures.
· Follow and ensure compliance to quality system and cGMP programs.
· Ensure that all Encapsulation tooling (tamping pins, lower and upper segments, dosing disc, cleaning pins etc) are in good condition always.
· Maintain all logbooks and tooling related drawings.
· Ensure Tooling room & all tooling records always meet cGMP compliance requirements
· Ability to use rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments as required.
· Report any tooling damaged to manufacturing management.
· Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.
· Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
· Maintains safe work environment by complying with safety procedures
· Responsible for receiving and inspecting all new tooling for Compression and encapsulation, assuring they meet OEM specifications.
· Must maintain and Calibrate tooling after production runs.
· Extensive knowledge of measuring instruments and mechanical skills.
· Ability to fix minor tooling defects.
· Support training machine operators in proper care of tooling.
· Maintain usage totals to be used for projecting new tooling orders.
Qualifications:
· Non-supervisory role.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· 3-5 years of experience in GMP facilities preferred
· No certifications or licenses required.
· Must have basic math skills.
· Basic reading skills required.
· Basic computer skills needed.
· Must have basic language skills. Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
· Must have basic writing skills.
· Must be willing to learn new tasks and procedures.
· Ability to efficiently and effectively perform all essential position duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation without posing a direct safety threat to self or others.
· Maintain a regular and dependable work attendance record with few instances of unplanned and/or unexpected absence.
