Arizona Gynecology Consultants is seeking an experienced ASC Administrator / Director of Nursing to lead operations at our gynecology-focused ambulatory surgery center in Phoenix, Arizona. This leadership role oversees daily operations, staffing, regulatory compliance, physician relations, financial performance, and quality initiatives while supporting exceptional patient care and surgical efficiency.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with prior ASC management experience who can confidently support clinical operations, improve workflows, lead teams, and help drive continued growth within a fast-paced surgical environment.
RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Operational Leadership
• Oversee daily ASC operations, including scheduling, case flow, and patient throughput
• Ensure efficient OR utilization and block time optimization
• Partner with surgeons to improve access, turnaround times, and case volume
• Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks (pre-op, PACU, turnover times)
2. Financial Management
• Develop and manage the ASC budget (revenue, expenses, staffing)
• Monitor key financial metrics:
o Case volume & utilization
o Cost per case
o Supply and implant costs
o Labor as % of revenue
• Drive profitability through cost control and revenue optimization
• Collaborate with RCM to ensure accurate billing, coding, and collections
3. Regulatory & Compliance Oversight
• Ensure compliance with:
o Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Conditions for Coverage
o Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) or other accrediting bodies
o State and federal regulations
• Oversee accreditation readiness and survey processes
• Maintain policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs
4. Clinical & Quality Leadership
• Partner with Medical Director and CEO on:
o Patient safety initiatives
o Infection control
o Quality improvement programs
• Monitor key quality metrics:
o Complication rates
o Infection rates
o Patient satisfaction
• Lead QAPI (Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement) program
5. Staffing & Team Management
• Recruit, hire, and manage ASC staff (nursing, techs, admin)
• Develop staffing models aligned with case volume
• Manage scheduling, productivity, and overtime
• Lead performance management and staff development
6. Physician Relations
• Maintain strong relationships with surgeon partners
• Support surgeon block utilization and growth initiatives
• Address physician concerns related to scheduling, staffing, and resources
• Assist in onboarding new surgeons and service lines
7. Supply Chain & Vendor Management
• Oversee purchasing and inventory management
• Negotiate vendor contracts (implants, supplies, equipment)
• Ensure cost-effective supply utilization
• Evaluate new technologies and equipment
8. Strategic Growth & Business Development
• Identify opportunities to increase case volume and service lines
• Support expansion initiatives (new specialties, OR capacity)
• Participate in strategic planning with executive leadership
• Analyze market trends and competitive positioning
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education & experience: BSN preferred and prior management in an ASC setting is required. Prior experience with women’s health is preferred. Priory operating room experience is preferred
Special Skills/Equipment: Must have the ability to be able to come right in and begin working on the floor of the ASC in either preo-op, PACU, or the operating room. Must be have prior working knowledge to typical equipment normally used in an ASC setting.

Must have excellent written and oral skills, strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills. Must have ability to multitask, manage priorities and workflow. Required to have versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm and have acute attention to detail. Able to operate computer software with training. Expected to have strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to understand and follow written/verbal instructions. Able to work independently with little or no supervision. Required to have the ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational level and with external customers.
