Our group of physicians was formed in 2007 in an effort to bring the talents and abilities of some of the most respected names in the Arizona gastroenterology community together to set a new standard of care for patients with digestive diseases. In October 2019, we partnered with the nationwide group GI Alliance to broaden our impact in the Western United States. We are currently seeking a Full time Grossing Technician to join our Pathology Lab located at in Phoenix, Arizona.
Position purpose
The Grossing Technician’s main responsibility is accessioning, documenting and preparing biopsies in the pathology laboratory.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

· Provide back up for Lab Assistant duties
· Gross, embed, and stain tissue according to designated procedures
· Complete assigned workload within prescribed time limit
· Prepare reagents for tissue processing and routine slide staining
· Maintain legible, accurate complete logs and record of testing
· Distributing slides to pathologists
· Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment
· Troubleshoot procedures and instrumentation
· Ensure all corporate safety, quality control and quality assurance standards are met
· Ensure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulations
· Maintain a clean and well-organized work area
· Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications
Education:
· High school diploma or equivalent required AND
· Associate’s degree in science or equivalent science education is required to meet CLIA requirements for high complexity testing.
Experience: One (1) year experience in laboratory setting preferred.

Physical Requirements
· Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
· Frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move 25 to 50 pounds.
