We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Histotechnologist to join our laboratory team. This role is responsible for preparing high-quality tissue sections for microscopic examination, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to laboratory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine histology procedures including fixation, embedding, microtomy, and staining (H&E and special stains)
- Prepare and maintain tissue processing equipment and reagents
- Ensure proper specimen identification, labeling, and tracking
- Perform quality control procedures and maintain documentation
- Troubleshoot staining and processing issues as needed
- Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, and other regulatory requirements
- Assist pathologists with slide preparation and special requests
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Histotechnology or related field
- HT or HTL certification (ASCP) preferred (or eligible)
- Minimum [1–2 ] years of histology experience preferred
- Strong microtomy skills (paraffin sections)
- Experience with special stains and immunohistochemistry (IHC) is a plus
- Knowledge of laboratory safety and regulatory standards
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a high-volume clinical or reference laboratory
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
