STEAM Teacher
Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics
Qualifications: Hold a valid Arizona Elementary with a middle school endorsement in Science, or Math and hold a valid fingerprint clearance card. Teaching experience preferred.
Reports to: Principal or as otherwise assigned by the Superintendent
Job Goal: To inspire and engage kindergarten – 8th grade students in hands-on learning experiences that promote creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving across science, technology, engineering, art, and math in a classroom setting designed to foster a love for STEAM and prepare students for future academic success.
Essential Functions/Performance Responsibilities:
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
- Develops and maintains a safe and orderly inquiry based, project minded classroom environment that promotes problem-solving, innovation and a growth mindset.
- Plans, develops and implements engaging STEAM lessons aligned with district guidelines and state standards with written evidence of preparation.
- Introduces students to foundational concepts in coding, robotics, engineering, and other STEAM disciplines.
- Integrates technology tools and digital resources to enhance student learning and collaboration.
- Designs and guides students through hands-on experiments, projects, and STEAM challenges.
- Collaborates with teachers to integrate STEAM into other subject areas.
- Monitors and assesses student progress, adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
- Promotes a positive and inclusive classroom culture where all students feel valued and supported.
- Participates in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in STEAM education.
- Communicates regularly with families to share student progress and foster a strong school-community connection.
- Ensures a safe, organized, and well-managed learning environment that encourages active engagement.
- Serves as a site trainer for technology related materials - including but not limited to Interactive Boards, Laptops, 3D Printers, iPads, Coding, and STEAM materials.
- Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Terms of Employment: Exempt. Ten-month work calendar. Salary and work calendar as established by the Governing Board.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with Board policy.
Salary : $52,500 - $65,500
