Job Title: On Call Schedule Coordinator

Hours: 7:00am to 3:30pm

SUMMARY: Operates multi-line telephone system to answer incoming calls and directs callers to appropriate personnel and physicians. Manages multi-Physician call schedule and pages out the on-call physician for hospital consults.

DUTIES: Other duties may be assigned.

• Answers incoming telephone calls, determine purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department.
• Takes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voice mail when appropriate personnel are unavailable.
• Answers questions about organization and provides callers with address, directions, and other information.
• Documents all interactions with patients into the patient chart/record.
• Developing, implementing, and maintaining equitable and compliant on-call schedules for 12 physicians
• Pages all hospital consults and IP nursing calls to the on-call physician in accordance with the call schedule

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Bilingual Preferred (Spanish read/write/speak).
• One year experience answering telephones and/or switchboard
• One year related medical office experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to handle large volume of phone calls appropriately and professionally.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and manage changing priorities and a heavy workload.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to patients, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Knowledge of MS Excel Spreadsheet software and MS Word/Word Processing software
