Position Summary

The Senior HVAC Mechanic will operate, maintain, and repair critical cooling infrastructure, focusing on 500-ton air-cooled chiller systems to guarantee 100% uptime for data center operations. This role involves proactive maintenance, complex troubleshooting, and mentoring junior staff, with significant opportunities for career advancement within our expanding company.

Key Responsibilities

Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Perform expert-level troubleshooting and repairs on 500-ton air-cooled chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, and water treatment systems.

System Monitoring: Utilize Building Management Systems (BMS) to monitor, alarm, and tune environmental systems, ensuring optimal temp/humidity for IT equipment.

Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to increase energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Leadership & Stewardship: Mentor junior technicians, promote a safe working environment, and maintain meticulously clean mechanical rooms. 

Required Experience & Qualifications

Extensive experience (5 years) in a critical, high-availability, 24x7 data center environment.

Deep working knowledge of 500-ton air-cooled chillers, DX units, and CRAC/CRAH systems.

Strong experience with building automation systems and troubleshooting complex mechanical failures.

Exceptional attention to detail, focusing on zero-mistake, zero-callback performance.

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of five years of experience managing critical, 24x7 high-availability data center environments.

• Comprehensive technical knowledge of DX units, CRAC/CRAH systems, and 500-ton air-cooled chillers.
• Proven proficiency in building automation systems and the resolution of complex mechanical malfunctions.
