SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
Serve as in-house counsel and handle all complex legal matters and projects, ensuring the legality of commercial transactions and advising the company on legal rights and duties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consult and handle all corporate legal processes, including intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, financial offerings, compliance issues, transactions, agreements, lawsuits, and patents.
- Develop company policy and position on legal issues.
- Research, anticipate, and guard the company against legal risks.
- Guide managers and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
- Structure, draft, and review reports and other legal documents.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings.
- Draft and administer all contracts.
- Negotiate deals and attend company meetings.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- J.D. degree and New York State bar admission required.
- 4 years of proven comparable law firm experience.
- Proven background in corporate law, including contract law, tax law, accounting, bankruptcy, intellectual property rights, licensing, and zoning laws.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Administrative and managerial skills.
- Analytical ability and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
