Position Summary
Arizona Athletic Grounds is seeking a Business Development Coordinator – Sales Activation & Partnerships to help drive sponsorship and partnership revenue across the Phoenix market. This is a sales-focused role for someone with direct experience selling in Phoenix and a background in sports sponsorships, partnerships, and/or business development.
This position will play a key role in generating new business, building relationships, supporting sponsor activation campaigns, and helping deliver contracted partnership assets. The right candidate is a strong seller, highly organized, polished in front of clients, and comfortable working in a fast-paced sports and events environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prospect and qualify new business leads across the Phoenix and Arizona market
- Generate sales activity through outbound outreach, meetings, follow-up, and relationship building
- Help develop and sell sponsorship and partnership opportunities across campus assets and events
- Build proposals, pitch decks, one-sheets, and recap materials for prospective partners
- Support the VP of Business Development in moving opportunities from prospecting to close
- Coordinate sponsor activations and help ensure strong execution of partner campaigns
- Track and manage contractual deliverables including signage, hospitality, digital, promotions, and experiential assets
- Serve as a day-to-day contact for assigned partners and internal execution needs
- Maintain accurate pipeline activity, account updates, and opportunity tracking in SponsorCX and Excel
- Identify renewal, upsell, and new revenue opportunities within existing partner accounts
- Represent Arizona Athletic Grounds at meetings, events, activations, and networking opportunities throughout the Valley
- Other related duties as assigned
Experience and Qualifications
- Must have direct experience selling in the Phoenix market
- Must have experience in sports sponsorship sales, partnerships, or business development
- Strong ability to prospect, pitch, build relationships, and support closing new business
- Proficiency in Canva, PowerPoint, Excel, and SponsorCX
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- Professional, polished, and confident in client-facing environments
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines at once
- Self-starter with urgency, follow-through, and attention to detail
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or a related field highly preferred.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) (Required)
- Valid driver’s license (required for golf cart and other equipment use)
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to tolerate moderate to loud noise levels and busy environments.
- May work in high/low temperature climates inside or outside at events at AAG.
- Walking, standing for periods of time, reaching, kneeling, and bending.
- Requires ability to occasionally lift up to 25-35 lbs.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
