Position Overview
The Director of Information Technology is responsible for developing and executing the organization's overall technology strategy to support business growth, operational efficiency and digital transformation. This leader will partner with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with business objectives while overseeing enterprise systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, manufacturing technology and IT operations. The role requires both strategic vision and hands-on leadership to build scalable technology solutions, improve business processes and support long-term organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the organization's enterprise technology strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Partner with executive leadership to identify and prioritize technology initiatives that support growth and operational excellence.
- Lead digital transformation, automation and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
- Improve inventory management processes through automation and technology enhancements.
- Optimize ERP, CRM, maintenance systems and other business applications through increased utilization and system integration.
- Support manufacturing technology initiatives, including machine connectivity, operational technology and production data visibility.
- Develop business intelligence tools, dashboards and reporting solutions to improve decision-making.
- Strengthen IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, networking, cloud technologies and Microsoft 365 environment.
- Oversee IT operations, vendor relationships, project execution and managed service providers.
- Build, mentor and develop the internal IT team while establishing a scalable organizational structure.
- Evaluate existing technology systems, identify improvement opportunities and create long-term technology roadmaps.
- Support future business expansion through scalable technology architecture and infrastructure planning.
Qualifications
- Progressive leadership experience in information technology (IT).
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, distribution or other operationally complex organizations.
- Proven success developing IT strategies and leading technology transformation initiatives.
- Strong experience with ERP systems, business applications, systems integration and process automation.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, cloud technologies and Microsoft 365.
- Experience leveraging technology and data to improve operational performance and business processes.
- Familiarity with manufacturing technologies such as MES, CMMS, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, operational technology, machine connectivity or shop-floor systems is preferred.
- Experience with business intelligence platforms, analytics, reporting tools or Power BI is preferred.
- Strong project management and vendor management experience.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across executive leadership, technical teams and operational personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
